Minoru
was born in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan. He attended
Asia University in Tokyo and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business.
He also attended the Bunka Fashion Academy in Tokyo where he studied
Fashion Design as well as Fashion Illustration. He worked in the fashion
industry in Japan until 1979 when he moved to Los Angeles.
Minoru has taken various life drawing classes at East Los Angeles
College, Pasadena City College and finally Glendale Community College.
Also while at Glendale Community College, he also took classes in
illustration, oil painting, water color and print making. He has been
given various First Place awards at student art shows for his works
in life drawing, water color and print making.
Minoru is a member of the Silver Lake Art Collective (SLAC) as well
as the Tom of Finland Foundation. His first show was at the 2003 Los
Angeles Tom of Finland Erotic Art Show where he sold his first signed
original work and other various prints. The response to his work was
overwhelming from both attendees and fellow artists. The Foundation
asked if he would donate one of his pieces to their permanent collection,
so he chose his favorite work to date, entitled "What Are You
Looking At?"
Minoru has travelled to France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland,
Germany, Canada and Hawaii. Currently, he lives in Burbank, California.
Minoru's unique style shows in all his work from his erotic pieces
to his non-erotic fine art. Rarely does a day go by that he doesn't
work on his drawings. When you see the detail in his work, you'll
no doubt agree it has been time well spent.
